Concrete Scanning Project

Ground Penetrating Radar Systems (GPRS) was contacted by a construction company in Louisville, KY to locate post-tension running through a slab on grade. During construction, numerous post-tension cables had broken through the side of the slab. GPRS was called to locate the broken cables, so the construction company could discover what caused the cables to break. Upon completing this work, GRPS was then asked to scan 10 newly poured foundations and locate all post-tension cables prior to any plumbing, electrical, or framing being installed. This was done to ensure there wouldn’t be any more post-tension cables damaged. The work was completed using a GSSI (Geophysical Survey Systems, Inc.) Ground Penetrating Radar, 1600 MHz antenna, which was used to locate the post-tension cables located in the slab.
